Exclusively for VDMA member companies.

In order to compete globally, foreign subsidiaries are a central component of every corporate strategy. Export alone is not enough, local commitment is required. However, the establishment of a branch abroad poses in particular challenges for small and medium-sized mechanical engineering companies.

The VDMA database "Foreign Subsidiaries 2019" offers members quick and practical guidance. The German and English versions enable straightforward research of the foreign subsidiaries of VDMA member companies. You can select by region, industry or company.

A database is as good as your basic data: we have gone new ways and obtained the data from the renowned company database Orbis from the data analyst Bureau van Dijk. These data were supplemented by current information from the VDMA foreign offices and research results from the German-American Chamber of Commerce in New York, which we commissioned separately.

In this way, we were able to achieve a broader picture of the foreign locations of our members. In total, the database is comprised of around 11,000 locations of 1,427 member companies.

In the exclusive member area of the VDMA website, member companies can now use this international orientation guidance.
